Frequently Asked Questions

At Rich Orthodontics we understand how difficult it can be to keep up with your oral hygiene. We want to make this process as painless as possible in every aspect!

Phase I, or early interceptive treatment, is limited orthodontic treatment before all of the permanent teeth have erupted. This treatment is sometimes recommended to make more space for the developing teeth, correct crossbites, overbites, and underbites, or stop harmful oral habits. Phase II treatment is also called comprehensive treatment because it involves full braces when all of the permanent teeth have erupted.
Generally, braces do not “hurt.” After certain visits, teeth may be sore for a few days. In these situations, pain medications such as Advil or Tylenol will ease the discomfort. However, after most visits, patients do not feel any soreness at all! We often remind our patients, “It does not have to hurt to work!”
Treatment time obviously depends on each patient’s individual orthodontic needs. In general, treatment times range from 12-30 months. The “average” time frame a person wears braces is approximately 18-24 months.
Are financing options available? How does my insurance work? We are transparent and affordable. Our metal braces are only $3600! We will cover the cost and financial options during the initial examination. We have many financing options available to accommodate your needs, and we will review these with you. We will also review your insurance policy and help to maximize your benefit and file your claims.
Yes! Regular checkups with your family dentist are important while in braces. Your family dentist will determine the intervals between cleaning appointments while you are in braces.
Yes. A tooth with a crown will move just like a tooth with a simple filling. When teeth are missing, orthodontic treatment will aid in the alignment of the remaining teeth.
